How to Launch a Boat from a Beach
I was digging through some old pictures and found a folder from a trip I took to Mexico in 2012. Meeting a few friends who had driven down from California allowed us a different perspective from the standard Mexican all-inclusive resorts.
I flew into Puerto Vallarta where I was picked up by my friends. Our first stop was up the coast in Lo de Marcos. After that we headed south spending most of our time camping in La Manzanilla.
From here we did several kayak trips and a fishing trip where I saw this unique method of launching a boat from a beach.
Dorado Duet, the third book in my Will Service series was based around the location we visited and has a scene launching a boat like this.
For all the bad rap that Mexico gets for crime and violence, the trip showed a different side of the country, one not seen in Narcos. The closest we came to anything even remotely illegal was on a day trip to Colima. It was near dark and we were stopped by a half dozen girls with a long jump rope extended across the road. After handing over a few pesos we were on our way and a look back showed they were jumping rope.
